Congratulations to Sugar Blue and his wife Ilaria Lantieri on the birth of their son, James Michael Neel Whiting on Thursday May 30. Baby Blue weighed in at 6lbs. 11 oz. and is 21" long.

Steve Hecht
May 5, 1962 - May 28 2013

Steven David Hecht passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 28, 2013.

Steve was a loving husband; father, brother, nephew and son. He was a musician, song writer and the founder and owner of Piedmont Talent, one of the most successful booking agencies for Blues Musicians worldwide.

Steve was a two time winner of the distinguished Keeping the Blues Alive Award. He was on the Board of Directors for the Blues Foundation and served a respected judge during several International Blues Competitions in Memphis, TN.
Thanks to Steve’s hard work, dedication and persistence, the Blues music genre continues to grow and to thrive. Many of his artists have received Blues Music Awards.
Steve’s life was filled with laughter, friendship, music and true love. His accomplishments will never get lost and his legacy will continue to live on.
Steve is survived by his wife Laurel Hecht, daughter Hannah Hecht, Sister Cheryl Hecht and mother Helen Hecht. He is preceded in death by his sister Barbara and his father Murray.
Memorials can be made in the form of donation to Stand Up To Cancer, Gaston Hospice or Handy Artists Trust Fund via The Blues Foundation.

Congrats to new Grandpa Don Mize on the birth of his grandson Kaiden. Daughter Meaghan handles the newsletter preparation and distribution.
